Casalinga OrganicFarm, Muldersdrift | South Africa Weddings
Jay and Michelle were two lovers stuck in the middle of the worst pandemic of our time. The plans for their wedding were constantly being shifted out during the lockdowns and restrictions of Covid-19. The Suit & Dress were ready, but they were not allowed to have any Public events, which sadly included their planned Wedding.
With their hearts set on Marriage, they jumped at the first opportunity they could get once South Africa moved out of Level-5 restrictions. Michelle had already booked Meek Media months before, but had to postpone each month with the hopes that the Government would relax the restrictions. And then just like that, there was an easing of restrictions. When we got the call from Michelle, we didn’t even wait for her to confirm the date. We just said yes, irrespective of what day and time, because we were so excited for her and Jay to finally be tying the knot.
Enter: 10 February 2021, a day forever etched in their hearts as the beginning of their Life Together.
Jay’s preparation at his Dad’s house was relaxed, despite some earlier delays. His brother and best man Chase was there alongside him to make sure he looked fresh and ready for the Big Day.
Michelle chose a Traditional approach, to get dressed and leave from her mother’s house. With her mum & sister’s assistance for make-up and getting dressed, Michelle was soon on her way to meet the Man of her Dreams and Husband-to-be. Her Custom-made dress by Stephen van Eeden was an elegant design, which flowed gracefully across her. A beautiful fit indeed.
The bride arrived at the scenic St John The Apostle church, in a classic Rolls-Royce. The Groom had waited nervously, with all eyes of the guests on him. Jay couldn’t hold back his tears as his Fiance walked down the aisle towards him.
It was an emotional exchange of vows, but one filled with joy and love. And then the moment we had all been waiting for, their first kiss as Husband and Wife.
The Wedding Reception took place at the leafy Casalinga Organic Farm in Muldersdrift.
Lush Gardens are found throughout the venue, and were charming and natural, a dream for their Wedding Photos. Despite it raining earlier in the day, the heavens opened for just enough time for the couple to escape the crowd and find some time alone in the flower-filled garden and open fields of Casalinga
The Reception was a soft-lit celebration, as speeches from family and friends spoke of the love which Michelle and Jay shared, and of their kind hearts. It was truly memorable to see how, despite the circumstances they had gone through in the lockdowns, these two were still committed to celebrating their wedding with those nearest and dearest to them. And the scenic Casalinga was the perfect choice as a venue for that celerbration.
This wedding was a reminder to us all, that the Love we share in our Marriages finds it’s roots in the pursuit of our love for our spouses, esteeming them higher than ourselves. Both Jay and Michelle praised one another, honouring each other in their words and in their actions.
We pray that The Lord will bless their Union, despite the challenges which are bound to come. May they stand strong together, having Christ as the Centre of their homes, their love, and their lives.
“Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
